Since Brexit ended free movement, French nationals wishing to work in the UK beyond a short visit now generally need a Skilled Worker visa requiring a SELT, alongside family visa applicants joining a partner or spouse already in the UK. French nationals with settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme do not need a SELT.
