Since Brexit ended free movement, Polish nationals arriving in the UK for work now generally need a Skilled Worker visa like any other nationality, which requires a SELT, alongside family visa applicants joining a partner or spouse already living in the UK. Polish nationals with settled or pre-settled status under the EU Settlement Scheme do not need a SELT.
Polish does not use articles (a, an, the) in the same way English does, and this, alongside the specific structure of the SELT speaking and writing tasks, is usually the main area that needs focused preparation rather than general English ability.
